Uniform Regulations 2013

JUNIOR AND SENIOR

At Kaikorai Valley College we believe that wearing uniform correctly and neatly is important in developing a sense of pride in oneself and the school.  Students are expected to wear full and correct uniform and to be well groomed at all times, including while travelling to and from school.

 JUNIOR BOYS’ UNIFORM

Trousers/Shorts

Regulation grey longs or grey shorts.

Shirt: White ‘Polo-style’ shirt with collar – long or short sleeved.

Socks: With shorts – regulation KVC grey socks with red and green tops. With trousers – grey, black, bottle green or white.

Shoes: Plain, flat heeled lace-up.  Black college-style leather shoe, with black laces.

Jersey: Regulation KVC monogrammed red V-necked jersey.

Vest: Regulation KVC monogrammed red V-necked vest [optional]

Senior Boys’ Uniform

Trousers: Regulation grey long trousers.

Shirt: Long or short sleeved buttoned shirt with KVC embroidered on the collar.

Tie: Regulation KVC tie.

Blazer: Regulation KVC blazer.

Socks, shoes, jersey and vest as for the junior boys’ uniform.

 JUNIOR GIRLS’ UNIFORM

Kilt: KVC kilt

Blouse/Shirt: White fitted blouse – long or short sleeved.

Socks: Plain white ankle socks or black tights.

Shoes: Plain, flat heeled lace-up.  Black college-style leather shoe, with black laces.

Jersey: Regulation KVC monogrammed red V-necked jersey.

Vest: Regulation KVC monogrammed red V-necked vest [optional].

Senior Girls’ Uniform

Blouse: Long or short sleeved buttoned shirt with KVC embroidered on the collar.

Tie: Regulation KVC tie.

Blazer: Regulation KVC blazer

Socks, shoes, jersey, vest and kilt as for the junior girls’ uniform.

 

Physical Education

Red T shirt/sweat shirt and bottle green shorts.

Postie Plus has KVC T-shirts that double as sports team uniform tops.

Scarf

Plain bottle green or KVC striped scarf. [Scarves are not to be worn in class].

Jacket

Any plain material jacket (ie no advertising, leather or imitation fur) which is red, bottle green or black (or combination of these colours).

On days where there is extreme wet weather the jacket rule is relaxed, but jackets can be replaced by waterproof clothing only.

Hats

Red or green full brimmed hats may be worn for sun protection.

Red or green beanies may be worn in cold weather.  Black beanies and other knitted type hats are not permitted.

Hats must not be worn indoors at any time.

 Uniform Suppliers

(Please note we have deferred opening the online uniform shop / outlet until later in 2012 when supply of uniform items will be supplied.)

New uniform items can be purchased online through www.theschoolwearcentre.co.nz .

Arthur Barnett and Postie Plus have stock available on existing uniform items. Long trousers, shorts, socks and kilts are still able to be purchased from these suppliers.

Kilts are also available at Tudor House in Filleul Street.

The KVC Parents’ Group runs a uniform exchange shop; contact details can be obtained from the school office.  Jan Hooper operates the second hand uniform shop and can be contacted on 453 0012.
